Do Ho Suh – Passage/s

Team Strategy went on a cultural outing this week to see Do Ho Suh’s new exhibition, Passage/s at the Victoria Miro Gallery. The latest in a series of work exploring the home as a lived experience, the artist has created an ethereal fabric corridor of adjoining transitory spaces, modelled on sections of his apartments and studios from around the world. Executed in his signature colourful gauze and intricately detailed, each portion represents a linking point or hub within its respective buildings.

Inspired by his transitory existence, he describes how he sees ‘life as a passageway, with no fixed beginning or destination’ and how we ‘tend to focus on the destination all the time and forget about the in-between spaces’. As you walk through these contrasting connected spaces you certainly begin to slow down and enjoy the journey, while the beautiful detailing of fixtures and fittings encourages you to appreciate the forgotten spaces in which we never linger. Definitely an interesting consideration from a customer experience perspective!
