A contemporary retail experience for Islander’s London debut
Bringing a distinctly Scottish spirit to the heart of London, we partnered with Islander to create its first store outside Scotland. Located just off Seven Dials in Covent Garden, the new space translates the brand’s heritage and craftsmanship into a contemporary retail experience, showcasing its signature Harris Tweed®, leather and tartan satchels alongside a curated collection of shoes and accessories.
Introducing a Scottish icon
Inspired by the heritage of Harris Tweed® and reimagined through a contemporary lens, the store combines earthy tones, rich greens and tactile materials to create an inviting, immersive environment that feels unmistakably Islander. Every touchpoint encourages customers to explore, discover and personalise, bringing Islander’s craftsmanship and storytelling to life.
Heritage, reimagined
At the heart of the store is a dedicated workshop where customers can create and customise their own bespoke satchels. Flexible tables, social moments and dedicated spaces for group workshops encourage customers to create, connect and share – building on the popularity of Islander’s hands-on experiences across its existing stores. The collection balances abundance with intuitive discovery, with dedicated Strap and Charm Bars inviting customers to personalise and reinvent their bags long after they leave the store.
The joy of making
Storytelling is woven throughout the experience, bringing customers closer to both Islander and the craft behind its products. Soft projections share information about Harris Tweed®, while bag illustrations and wall murals add personality and visual storytelling throughout the space.
Telling the Islander story
The Covent Garden store represents an important step in Islander’s London expansion. A second London location on Bloomsbury Street, near the British Museum, is scheduled to open later in 2026.
A new chapter for Islander
“ Dalziel & Pow’s design for our beautiful Covent Garden store invites visitors to become part of our story, to get closer to the craft, create and connect.”
