Housed within an award winning museum in the village of Ditchling nestled under Ditchling Beacon, the South Downs National Park and Brighton beyond, is an exhibition celebrating the centenary of Edward Johnston’s world famous typeface created in this Sussex village for London Underground.

The museum also covers the history, stories and work of other famous Ditchling residents such as Eric Gill and Hilary Pepler who made Ditchling a hot bed for contemporary arts and craft. A much recommended little secret of icons of design in the 20th century.

Take a train from London to Hassocks, then walk, ride or taxi it to Ditchling and make sure to finish with a visit to The Bull opposite for a taste of Sussex F&B.
