Yayoi Kusama has created three immersive mirror rooms specifically for the Victoria Miro Gallery. Alongside the rooms new paintings hang of Yayoi’s infamous polka dots and her ‘infinity nets’. She suffers from nervous disorders and psychiatric problems and the use of the repeat patterns and shapes are the outcome of these. The iconic pumpkins that can be seen throughout the exhibition are also a result of past hallucinations. We were able to pop down in a lunch hour… and it’s free! Well worth the trip.
