James Murphy is a musician from New York and former LCD Soundsystem frontman.
He wants to change the sound of the subway turnstile into something more melodic and beautiful.
“Subway Symphony is a little idea I had to change the sound of the subway turnstiles into different pieces of music, depending on what station you’re entering,” Murphy explains in this new video that launched at the beginning of this month as part of a campaign (supported by Heineken) to gain support for the project.
He has been working on this idea for the past 20 years, after being inspired by the soothing sounds of the subway systems.
