Villandry
Our initial involvement with Villandry was to update their Great Portland Street site and introduce a viable retail offer to live up to the quality food they serve. This required development of a recognisable brand image which could be transferred to other Villandry branches, with refreshed brand identity, packaging and store design.
The concept builds on the heritage of Villandry, maintaining its signature dark oak cabinetwork, but adding a warm limestone floor, dark ceilings with theatrical spotlighting, to create a mellow and dramatic mood. Lights are focussed directly onto the stock, highlighting the appetising displays and encouraging the customer to buy.
The graphic brief covered packaging and communications. The addition of the lime green awnings and carrier bags reinforce a recognisable Villandry identity. Both Great Portland Street and the subsequent Bicester Village site have exceeded expectations.
