The Mr Price Group is a leading South African retailer with over 900 stores across southern Africa. We were appointed to redesign their fashion, home and sports brands, and present a fresh, new and contemporary offer for each. We created a new brand identity for the group, and three individual identities evolved from there. The emphasis for Mr Price was to reduce the visual density of the offer, to create a more open and inviting feel, and entice the customer to shop the whole offer. A ‘denim hub’ was created at the heart of the store, and lowered ceilings were used to create interest and intimacy for the footwear and lingerie departments. New in-store communications, for example interchangeable graphics applied to large format lightboxes behind the cash desks, offer flexibility for seasonal events and product promotion. Following the launch at Sandton City Mall, Johannesburg, the concept is now rolling out across South Africa.
