Hato Press

Last night I went along to the opening of Hato Press’s first bricks & mortar shop in East London, showcasing products old and new.

‘’Hato Press is an independent printing and publishing house based in London. It was established in 2009 to act as a support structure to help sustain its members’ practices and offer an affordable means of production for others. Hato is thought of as an autonomous experimental space to encourage collaborators to develop ideas and facilitate both the production and distribution of new content. All profits are directed into purchasing new equipment for the workshop and making new books.’’

Coinciding with the opening of the shop was the launch of Sheet magazine Issue no.7 (Urban Outfitters monthly magazine) curated by Hato Press. They invited a small selection of artists to put together a series of mini manuals designed to inform, inspire and get you playing. Sheet no.7 is the result. It is an interesting publication aimed to engage with customers who spend time in their stores.
